Today, as I was running errands I was listening to WGN on the radio. From 9:00 to noon it's presided over by two zany women, who tend to talk about really trivial things. Today, Judy was talking about a questionnaire in "Elle" Magazine about bodies.
The question posed was: If you were in a long-term relationship and you could arrange for one of you to have a GREAT body.....which of you would have the great body? They took six callers and 5 out of the 6 said they wanted the great body. The callers were both men and women. One man said he wanted his partner to have the great body.
The article said that 9 out of 10 women said THEY wanted the great body. Fewer men said they wanted the great body, about 6 out of 10.
Since women tend to be less secure about their bodies their results didn't surprise me. The physical aspects of making love have to be easier when you aren't concerned about a few extra pounds, or when you know that your lover admires how you look.
There's vanity involved in men wanting their partner to be beautiful. Think of how many men divorce in middle age and then marry a trophy wife. I wonder if that really raises a man's social standing among his peers? I was a little surprised that as many as six out of 10 men wanted the great body for themselves. Does that mean that male values concerning appearance are changing?

I've also reached the point (finally) where I'm 'comfortable' in my skin...(she also doesn't seem to mind to much *g*) so I think I would opt to leave us both as is.
just with a few less health problems!

I vote for Hub to have the perfect body. It's like new shingles on the roof - seems like such a waste of money when I can't even admire them from the kitchen window. If I had the perfect body, I could only see it when gazing at my relection - If Hub had it, I could admire it all day long.

uh... well as it is he has spent the majority of this relationship having the handsome bod while mine has fluctuated from thin and admirable to big and beautiful (LOL)... so, I think if I could choose I'd like to be the hard one... just as long as he didn't soften up too much!

I wouldn't change a thing. Though my wife's on a diet, and I support her because that is important to her, a good relationship is so much more than image. We both are striving to keep in shape, but more for health and stamina rather than pure looks.
Besides, that's why most people make love in the dark. And any "extra" is just more cushion for the pushin'. How romantic.

I'd want the good body. I never had one before, so this would be new to me. Me and the Mrs. were both fat when we married, so appearances were never the issue....
Plus I'm hitting middle age myself, and I want to make the trophy wife happy, and start to think about finding her.

I love the variety of answers! Personally, I want the great body. Of the two of us, mine needs more work, and I love DH's body. I'd like to give him the chnce to make love to a HOT woman, without having to kill him for infidelity.... *G*
