Checking In

Redeagle1, otherwise known as the Great and Beneficent ~T~ has been working on my blog again, as you can see. I swear she's a magician.

I knew that I wanted to try something similar to the design of her blog, but I couldn't find a picture of a quilt that worked for the background. Earlier this year Cop Car gave me Electric Quilt 5, so I went to the software to design a quilt for the backdrop. I gave five versions of this star to ~T~ to play with, and this is what she gave me, in less than 24 hours!

You can tell that I'm firmly entrenched in Autumn colors. You've seen the batik quilt (September 4th) that was finished this year, and now the blog carries those warm reds and oranges. You have to know that this is my favorite time of the year. I'm like a sunflower: just plant me and watch me turn my face to the sun as it passes overhead! *G*

I may ask ~T~ to do a little tweaking for me, but this is likely to be the format for my blog for a while. Let us know what you think.

Is there any way you can get "skins"? I can't see anything but color (not your webpage, my eyes - actually they can tell there are words, just can't tell what they say).

Buffy:

Hmmmm...I'll have to check.

yes, she can...will take a while though...is this a bit better in the meantime?

Better - thanks!

Cop Car:

Don't know what has changed since the last time I looked; but, your blog is readable (physically, that is), now. (Your writing has always been readable!) Maybe I was just tired or had a low-grade migraine that I didn't recognize. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. BTW: The last time I checked in, I left 2 or 3 comments; but, they didn't seem to "take".

Cop Car:

Hmmm. My eyes must be like novae--constantly variable. Now, I'm back to struggling to read the text. Perhaps it has to do with ambiant lighting. The above comment was posted at about Midnight, so the only lighting was the small neon light above my desk (behind me as I look at the monitor). Today, although the light above my desk (behind me) is on, and although it is cloudy, there is a small amount of daylight seeping through the vertical blinds (beyond the monitor from me). Buffy--would you please come set up my lighting? *wry grin*

Buffy:

Don't you just love the pumpkin color for the background of the comments?? *G* I see we found your comments. I'm glad this is easier for you to read, Cop Car. I'd hate to loose you as a visitor to my blog.

Buffy:

Awwwww Cop Car! Call me, and I'll read it to you! *G*

We'll get it worked out. Maybe what was easier for you to read is the solid background of the comments page. I bet the translucent box where I post is giving you problems. Hang in there!

Cop Car:

When the electricity went off, today, I actually thought about calling you to explain my abrupt departure from our email strings. Gawd, what a phone bill I will have from calling you twice each day to read your blog to me!!

P.S. When Hunky Husband saw me walking down the hall with my oil lamp in hand, he asked what I was doing. I explained that, when I close my bathroom door (per his request), it gets pretty dark in my windowless bathroom with the electricity off! How romantic--to shower by lamp light.

Buffy:

What's the deal? Do you sing in the shower??

I'm glad the power loss was only temporary!

Great new design - and really easy colourway for me (with poor eyesight) to read, thanks.

the transparancy can be removed if it's giving problems...I just hated to hide the wonderful piece of work you did Buffy!

also, the archives are not transparant...if that helps any

Nancy:

Stunning! It's like sitting in front of a blazing fire on cold, snowy day wrapped in an exquisite quilt. The colors are warm and vibrant.
You dun good.
Sissy

buffy:

Aw, Sis, that's SO sweet! I'm delighted you like it!

buffy:

~T~ I haven't checked the archives, so it's good to know that they aren't transparent. That might be a solution for some of my readers while you work on the "skins" situation.

Thanks for the heads up!
