We are so firmly entrenched in drought that my plants are becoming crispy critters. Normally, I'll do anything to avoid having to move a hose around, but it was time to have mercy on the plants.
Unfortunately, it has also become the time of the watering ban. I can water every other day, only early in the morning, and in the evening. I should have known this was coming, and watered before they made the announcement.
I've lost a clematis, but I think I'm in time to save an hydrangea that was planted last fall. The iris transplants are going to need regular watering. We're headed for some all time records in heat this week.

I'm sorry to hear about your hosepipe ban. Just when you don't need it. I am holding my breath that they don't stick one on us as I am having to use the hosepipe every evening on plants I don't want to lose. Fortunately those plants that have been in for some time are well enough entrenched not to need watering every day.

Bummer on losing to the drought. We just resumed watering, Tuesday (system is set for Tues, Thurs, Sun) after at least two weeks of being turned off. We may receive rain, Sunday. Wish we could share.

I wish you could, too! We're supposed to have thunderstorms tonight, but they also say they will be so intermittent that we are likely not to have any rain. BUMMER! AND....our trip to Hornbaker's has been called off due to heat
