A Fan

I'm a TOm Hanks fan. I'm not a stalker, and I'm not a card-carying member of his official fan club, but I love his movies. I suppose the only one I'm not terribly fond of is "Sleepless in Seattle." I watched "You've Got Mail" this afternoon before it was time to make dinner, and we've seen "The Green Mile" recently. "Apollo 13" is playing as I write this.

I understand that Hanks has been given the role of the main character in the "Da Vinci Code", which is coming out this Spring. I'll be one of the people who go to see it within the first week.

I agree that Hanks is a talent not to be dismissed, though I must admit I found the vollyball on a deserted island movie yawn-inducing in the extreme. I also am already staking out my seat for the opening of The Da Vinci Code.

LOL I just have to add that your blog has determined that my aol Screen Name (SeaStormS*c*a*m*p)contains the objectionable and offensive word s*c*a*m*p* and any entry utilizing that word shall be banned forthwith ;~)

Adele:

Tom Hanks is a good actor isn't he. Though I must challenge your view of "Sleepless in Seattle" which has always been a favourite of mine, though I have never liked nearly as much "You've Got Mail" (how on earth could she get together with him after he made her lose the business she loved?). Apollo 13 is an excellent film, a real cliffhanger even though we all know the outcome.

I am looking forward to "the Da Vinci Code" too. There's been a fair amount of publicity over here about the various buildings that they have filmed in.

Jessica...you must have been reading my mind. I was thinking that I needed your address to add your blog to my blogroll, but T has already done it. I'll have to ask her why my blog doesn't like you. Thanks for posting despite it's rudeness!

We actually own Cast Away, and I think you have to be in the right frame of mind to watch it. I agree that it's ssssllllooooowwwww, but maybe that was intentional, to give you a deeper reaction to his experience.

Adele, Dear Husband and I were talking about the very point that you bring up, but still, I find "You've Got Mail" to be more entertaining than "Sleepless in Seattle." Perhaps it's all the other characters that surround them. And...that's just my preference.

As for "Apollo 13," yes...we all know just how it's going to turn out, and I still enjoy seeing it now and then. I'd like to have the set Hanks narrated on the race to space in the US.

she's added to both blogrolls, but I cannot find why her email address would be setting off the blacklist anywhere...that word's not on it :-(
Jessica, would it be possible for you to email me the error you received?

~T~:

oh, and did you realize my dear, that this was your 1000 entry?

You're KIDDING!!! Nope, I didn't have a clue. Thanks for pointing it out, ~T~ !
