I received a call at 2:30 this afternoon, and it was my niece....the one you all want to come clean for you. She was on her way to pick up her sons after school, when a 17 year old girl broadsided her car. The paramedics had to cut her out of the car, and she was taken by ambulance to the local hospital.
She's going to be okay. Her sister and I and a friend spent about five hours with her in the ER, making sure that nothing was broken. Her car was totaled, and she hurts from her neck to her hip, and maybe her foot, but it seems that she will recover from the ordeal. The doc requires her to be off work for at least four days, and she's already fretting about who will do her job.
So, if I'm a little more absent that usual, you'll know that I am caring for my niece. Keep her in your prayers, please.

Well that just sucks! Good luck to your neice getting past the "banged-up" stage.

Good luck to you both--to her for rapid healing and someone to keep the work from piling up on her, and you for your concern and for you efforts on her behalf. Take the time with her. We, your devoted fans, will still be here.

Oh dear. At least she only has bruises and nothing worse - like broken bones. I hope she won't take long to recover.

Thank you, very much, ladies! She's doing well, and will be allowed to go back to work on Sunday. She's achy, and bruised, but SO much better than I thought she would be.
Thanks for the nice thoughts. She was delighted to hear them. *S*

I'm sorry to hear about your niece, I know I'm a bit late and read the post above stating that she was on the mend! I'm glad to hear that other than being beaten up that she is alive and well!!! I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I also noticed your sister has got a blog now ~ man I feel so out of the "loop" now a days and unloved *sniffle*. LOL Talk with you soon! Love to everyone!

Poor baby! Too much stuff on your plate, huh? We miss you too.
Yup, Frankie is blogging. Wait until she starts complaining about how addictive it is! NO SYMPATHY! *G*
Our niece is mending. As I said earlier, we have a lot to be thankful for this year. I'm hoping that she will be good as new. The car is a minor matter in the scheme of things.
Don't be a stranger!

Wow! She is one lucky person! I am glad she will be alright and had no major injuries. I had two close calls in two daysthis week with people speeding thru redlights. People drive like maniacs this time of year, so everyone should drive slow and defensibly (is there such a word?)

Thanks, Susan. Yes, She's very lucky, and it sounds as though you have been, too! I'm glad that you don't have more medical problems to address. "Defensibly" means "Capable of being defended, protected, or justified: defensible arguments." That would work, or you could use "defensively."

No problem, Susan....It was interesting to see how the definitions for those words differed.
Happy Thanksgiving!
