I've been trying for some time to get a picture of my Mother all dolled up in her Red Hat Finery. My brother was in New Orleans and bought her an incredible purple boa to go with the outfit. She wore it for the Red Hat Society brunch that was held at our house last weekend, and was the hit of the day.
Here's Elegant Mother on May 21st, standing on the sidewalk to our home:

I have never seen a Red Hat Lady before.
I love the boa!

She's VERY proud of that boa, Susan! You should see some of the other hats and outfits these ladies wear. They are really amazing.
~T~ Thanks so much for making Mama appear. I have no idea what I did, but several people told me that Elegant Mother was in stealth mode. *G*

P.S. The Rare Wine iris is a beauty, too!

I'll have to see how the other pictures of the iris turn out, Cop Car. You KNOW I'll be sharing them if they are halfway decent.
I learned about .tif files today. For some reason my HP scanner was saving the pictures as .tif files. I'd never heard of that format before. My stepson has taught me how to convert them to .jpegs so ~T~ won't have to field my every goof! Thanks, again, hon!

From working at The Little Airplane Store, I think that I've worked with every file extension extant; but, once in a while I am proved wrong. We used .tif files for photos that we took of aircraft/parts damage, a lot; but, I never knew why. I just shrugged and used whatever came up--lol. Good luck in grappling with them. (Our IT people were accustomed to getting lots of dumb questions from me. Actually, they said that I was easy to help because I didn't think that I knew it all! They were so-o-o nice. They were across town from me, so I didn't get to see them.)

My IT son told me that .tif files were usually used in videos. I guess we'll both have to bone up on the subject, Cop Car.

Totally awesome, totally stunning. That is the kind of outfit that makes the wearer feel so special and spreads that joy to those who see her. I'm glad you posted that picture. You just can't beat the fairy-tale aspect of an outfit accented with red and royal purple. Hats off to the Red Hat Society! :)

Is she seeing anyone? :)
Seriously. A lovely lady.

(grinning) You've made her day, I'm sure! Cop Car has given her the sobriquet "Elegant Mother." She is just that. You never see her mussed or not dressed beautifully for the day.
Roberta, she'll love your comment! Thanks for the visit.

Visage, I showed Elegant Mother your comment, and she says that she's interviewing young men to drive her around in a hot red convertible. *G*

A red hot convertible with purple flaming, no doubt.

Oh wonderful - and she's not very different to how I imagined her! And I adore the irises in the backgorund.

I'll have more pictures of the iris later this week, BW. I must have been on a purple kick the last time I bought iris, because this year we have some incredible specimens!
