Countdown

As I write to you, it's about 10:26 at night on New Year's Eve, 2004.

We are accustomed to spending quiet evenings at home, with the exception of one very memorable celebration with Jamie and Speedbump three years ago, but it seems that this year will be quieter than usual.

Dear Husband and I have dreadful colds. I was up until 1:00 last night, working in the office, and I wanted to nod off through out the day because I had to be up at 6:30 this morning. I am not sure what's keeping me going, but I think I might make it to midnight, when I'll step outside my front door, pot and wooden spoon in hand, to scare away the bad spirits from my door!

Dear Husband, and my Elegant Mother, have given up the ghost. I suppose DH is the smart one, getting his rest and keeping to his regular sleeping schedule, but I just feel stubborn about this.

I'm contemplating making a fire in the fireplace, putting together a Cape Cod (tall) (Cranberry Juice, Stoli and a slice of lime), and turning on the TV to watch the New Year's Eve celebration as it crosses the United States.

I have been longing for some time to quilt, so tomorrow, and part of Sunday, and as much of the following week as business and my mother will allow, will be devoted to making quilt tops! I've been using bits and pieces of my time the last two days to work on projects that need to be finished. I should have two wall hangings and two quilts ready to be quilted by the first week of January!

So....I'm about ready to go start my personal celebration.

I don't make resolutions, and I don't forecast what will happen in the coming year. Rather, I'd like to wish you all good health, and good fortune, and may you have the best of years in 2005!

Happy New Year Buffy!!
I remember that celebration, even though I wasn't there, I heard enough details to feel as if I was LOL...glad to hear this year is much calmer, and hope you're feeling better soon.

HNY - hope you're all soon feeling much better, and enjoy your quiliting!

We didn't even try to see the New Year in. I didn't sleep well on Thursday night, we were tired from helping our friend move and I had to pet-sit this morning.

Still, we did visit some friends at their bonfire last night and finally came home and went to bed at 11.

Wishing you and yours a prosperous New Years in every way and a speedy recovery from the cold!

Happy New Year Buffy~~~ This year at out house was MUCH tamer than that party LOL ~ we let Q16 go to some friends house and we had take out from Outback and brought in the New Year with Little Ms. Prissy Princess and the dogs and I was asleep by 12:30 sober!!! LOL Hope you feel better soon!

Yeah, T....that was a memorable party! It's too bad that you couldn't make it. THis year was calm, but rather lovely. I had the last glass of Frog's Leap zinfandel, wrote half my thank you notes, enjoyed a colorful fire in the fireplace, and banged my pot at midnight. The cold still has me in it's grip, but I'm going to battle it! I hope you had a good time last night, and a great 2005!

Thank you, BW....HNY to you and Mr. BW!

Bogie, there have been years we opted out. I think DH was wise to go to bed early for too many reasons to list here. You and WS were great to help your friend move, and that was more important than being awake at midnight.

DH and I wish you and WS the best in 2005!

James! What's the world coming to when Q16 has to take over the celebrating!?? I bet Prissy Princess was delighted to party with her mommy and daddy and the dogs, and I have no doubt that Speedbump enjoyed having you to himself. Happy New Year to you all!

Mina:

Sorry to hear you're under the weather but it sounds to me like you're keeping busy anyway. Hope you're both feeling better soon and wishing you a very Happy New Year

Thanks, Mina! I'm going to take some Advil, some ecchinacea, and copious amounts of hot tea. And perhaps Dear Husband will go for a walk with me a little later.

I hope that you have come through the holidays fit as a fiddle. Thanks for the wonderful posts you've sent. I share them regularly with both family and friends.

Happy New Year Buff may you and your family have a great year!

Good health and Good fortune to you too, Buffy in this year, 2005 (like the way that number looks, 'eh?!)

Hope you shake the cold soon -- here, have a little help (** passing you some cyber-echancia and home made chicken soup**)

Thanks Des and Joe! My family and I hope that you and your familys have a wonderful year!

Thanks for the cyber-echinacea. I just learned that I need to get TINCTURE of echinacea augustifolia. That's supposed to help a cold in progress.

I hope you're all ready for your cruise!
