Hello!

I've missed my on-line family! It seems that it's my style to go for a few days between posting, so I really appreciate those of you who take the time to visit, to see if I've been around. Some days I get to browse through blogs, and other days I choose to write instead. I envy those of you who get to do both.

I've been plugging away on the quilt you saw a few weeks ago. There are six pieces to each twelve inch block. The block is pieced in two sections. Tonight I assembled more than half of the blocks. I have all the triangles cut out. I have to piece a few more verticle strips in shades of orange, and I have to cut out about ten more pieces of batik. It's possible that I will have this pieced by the end of February, and then it will be a matter of choosing a backing. YEAH! I love it when a quilt moves right along!

My oldest sister and I are going to host a family potluck and baby shower for my daughter and one of my nieces. I was at Office Max last Thursday, and I found some baby shower invitations, so I will most likely need a morning to play around on the computer. Mother has offered to hand address them, or I would have simply done the envelopes on the computer, too. She feels that's tacky. *S* So, the next step will be designing the menu. One of my nieces is doing appetizers. She asked what our theme was. I couldn't answer her. Besides food and baby gifts, I hadn't given it a thought. Any suggestions?

I opened my first gardening catelog on Sunday morning. If I had had my druthers, I would have stayed right there reading one seed catalog after another all day, but chores called. We're supposed to have a rainy day later this week. I may spend the day planning my gardens.

My exercise leader has been sneaking in a few new exercises each session. Right now I can feel muscles in my thighs I forgot were there. I'm glad she's working us. With all that gardening coming our way, I need to be prepared.

I can tell Spring is coming. I suspect other women will identify with this, when I say that I've started a list of things to do, to get the house into order for the warm months. I don't bother calling it my "Honey-do" list, because DH won't be around for most of this. I have a list of phone numbers to call, and I plan to find a few new suspects for that list. DH will have to help me with a little work in the gardens, but for the most part he will disappear to the boat in the back yard. Spring for him means painting a boat and working on it's engine before it's craned into the water again.

Okay....It's time for me to go read blogs. I hope you are all happy and healthy and ready for Spring!

Hello Buffy, good to see you and hear that the quilt is coming together. Painting the entire house (that wasn't already done with the rennos in the last year) is my witer project and it is ongoing. I tried a bit this weekend (hall... stairwell) and it is not a good idea for when the kids are around as one leaned uppon the fresh white trim and had a big stripe on his shirtback.

I think I take too much time with blogs (reading) but I have accumulated a long list of interests, so I try and get around to them often. I do blogs mainly in the eve... and sometimes with the tv, depending on what else I am doing and what is on the tube. I do take some eves completely off as it does get dull to do the same thing night after night. I really enjoy the writing, and as goes with the reading that too varies, sometimes I have a lot to say... other times not. But, with the lot to say thing... I now can post ahead, so I use that and space out my posts when I have a flood of things I want to 'discuss'.

Well, guess that was about enough space here! Toodles, take care!

...the worst thing about getting round blogs - is how do you show you've been?...you have to leave a comment - and that means writing well over 50 comments (in my blogroll-case) which means that a cruise through my blogroll can take up to 3+ hours...what I'm supposed to do once I actually become employed is a mystery to me :^)...

I thought you were still trying to give names to all the birds in your garden but that just goes to show me really doesn't it. :-)

PJ:

Good Morning,

Sorry about the startling sounds on the clip..guess I should have warned everyone...LOL

Here in our little corner of California, we're already seeing those pre-Spring signs. I am ready for this summer, have some major yard renovation plans.

Enjoy the day...

Glad to know that you will soon escape winter's wrath.

I haven't been doing much visiting recently myself....just not enough time and tired. Whate else is new?

Knock Knock busy lady is this thing on?? *smile* We both seem so busy these days this is the only way I can keep up on what's going on with you and the family update update LOL

Thank you, all, for visiting! Jamie....I'm here, some of the time.
:-) I came looking for you Saturday, but you must have been away from the computer.

Desiree, I'd love to be able to "post ahead." The best I can do now is to type it all in Word and then transfer it a little at a time. Good luck with your painting!

Billy, you know we will HATE it when you find a job! We count on you to be there every day, and to find new blogs for us to visit. You'll have to join the ranks of the weekend bloggers. :-(

Legomen....there's Murgatroid, the Mourning Dove, and Claude, the Cardinal....and Neville, the Nuthatch...

Awwwwwww PJ! I'm ready for Spring, but I bet we have more than a month of winter left here. I am SO envious!

Doc....we'll both get back into the swing of things. I envy you the lovely climate down there. I would be hard pressed to blog with so much good weather. Get your rest.
