Hi, all!
I really didn't mean to be away so long. We seem to have hit the busy time, getting ready for the Holidays, and before I knew it, a week had passed without an entry. I want to thank those of you who sent me notes and made entries in the comments, asking after me.
This week we havea our heads down, working on preparations. Dear Husband is doing the shopping and I am wrapping the gifts. I started the wrapping last night, and I have several evenings of work to go, I'd say. I think we have about 85% of the gift shopping done. Now I need to plan dinner for Christmas Day.
Our celebration will be spread over a number of days. We visit with my family on Christmas Eve. At 11:00 that night, one of my nephews has the lead in a Christmas play, and we hope to attend. Christmas Day, my youngest sister and her family will join us for several days, and the following day DH's kids will come for brunch and gifts. I suspect that I will go to bed early on New Year's Eve!
My wants are few this year...some books, some DVDs. Dear Husband and I are planning on giving each other a new computer after the holidays. I'm typing on an old computer from the company that runs on Windows 95. AOL takes up so much of it's resources that I get booted off line if I surf. We'll be parting ways with AOL and that alone will be a lovely gift.
DH brought a tree home yesterday. I doubt we will put it up before the weekend, and it will come down shortly after the New Year. I love the scent of evergreen in the house, but I don't wish to risk a dry tree going up in flames.
While that is on my mind, do you have a smoke alarm in your house? If you have two or more levels you should have one for each level, and if you have a big home, you might need more per floor. Even if your alarm is hard wired, be sure the back up battery is fresh. Go change it now. You never know when you'll need it. Stay safe, hmmmm?
And speaking of staying safe, those tests I had to take last week turned out well. It looks like I'll be blogging for a bit longer! *G*

Dumped AOHELL several months back after going cable. Snotty wretches wanted us to do an "exit" survey before they turned us off. Didn't work. "Leave us on if you want, but no more money is coming out of the account." They turned us off.
Que.1 - Why do you want to leave?
Que.2 - Who are you going to?
Ans.1 - Cause you suck! And are expensive for what we get.
Ans.2 - NOYGDB!! (none of your...business)
New comps would be REAL nice. Enjoy.

Welcome back! Good to see you. I understand busy...
yes, we do have smoke alarms on two levels (we are in a 4 level split... makes it a bit tricky.)
Glad to hear the tests are okay-fine.

T...I KNEW you would like that comment! It's nice to know that someone reads to the end of my posts! lol
WichiDude.....I love your comment! I'll be sure to follow your lead when we get to say "Ta Ta" to AOL.
Des...it sounds like you have a good start. You might want to put some battery run smoke alarms on the other two levels, just for safety sake. There's nothing more precious than our families, and that's what the alarms are there to protect.
