Speaking of....

"The Joy of..." Have you read "The Joy of Sex"?? When that book came out, I was a modern young married woman, but I had to hold back a nervous giggle as I bought it. You couldn't order it through Amazon.com then, and it was tantamount to asking for a copy of "Penthouse" at the news stand. I was delighted to have a guide, but vaguely uneasy about it. I finally realized that the people depicted in the poses were all Hippies! Had the book featured a clean-shaven Establishment man....I would have felt right at home! lol Talk about conservative!

I picked up another book recently, Lou Paget's "How to be a GREAT LOVER." It's subtitled "Girlfriend to Girlfriend Totally Explicit Techniques that Will Blow His Mind." In the chapter called "Give That Man a Hand" I discovered that I had been depriving DH of a technique called "Ode to Bryan." I'm amazed he hasn't divorced me......and he never said a WORD! I wonder if he has a stash of how-to books and is relieved that I haven't left him because he's failed to perform some incredible technique from the Kama Sutra?

It's all about checks and balances. *G*

Okay.....tell me. What other books should I have read??

I didn't read the "Joy of Sex" but I read the "Joy of Cooking" and Hub is still here. Years later he is still impressed that I know how to prepare a live lobster, clean out the gastro track of clams before cooking, how to clarify butter and prevent it from scorching and what to do with sorrel? What more could a man want?

Oh yeah! "The Joy of Cooking" is out where everyone can see it. I don't think I even own "The Joy of Sex" any longer. Another good cookbook, that I like even more is "Fanny Farmer." DH might prefer that I stick to salad and veggie cookbooks at this point in our lives. "Lite" is the byword of 2003!

LOL.. the Joy of Sex, that was my great educator! I don't know about certain books to teach, but be open, look around the web and in bookstores and magazines --- you need to be comfortable, then you can try new things... hubby and I tried new things in the last couple years that added 'spice' to our lives... you both have to be ready for some change if that is what you want.

Me too, Desiree! Unfortunately, it seems to have missed some things! *G* I'm not going to create an entire reference library, I just wondered if there was something I might have missed that was standard now.

Oh my you must post the information on the book so I can order it off Amazon.
