I was famished at 6:00 with no dinner prepared. It was time to clean out the fridge! I had the most incredible salad....
Diced red and yellow bell pepper
Sliced new pickle cucumbers, the first of the season, astringent and crunchy
Carrots sliced into very thin julienne strips
Broccoli stems done the same way
A tiny bit of red cabbage
Crumbles of feta cheese
Julienned strips of turkey
Marzetti's Asian Crunch salad topping
A bed of mixed romaine, iceberg and spinach,
topped with Green Goddess dressing
Until I got to the dressing, it was an incredibly healthy meal, and did it pack a CRUNCH! Perfect for a heat wave day.

Haven't been watching the weather, as HH does when he is at home, so I don't know what your heat has been like. I hope you haven't been following our lead. Sun--105, Mon--108, Tues--??, but I know that it hit at least 105. Downright warm! A crunchy salad is good for the heat.

Buffy--They reported that we had 108 on Tuesday. Today, they were predicting that we would reach a temperature of 110, but I don't know what we reached (107 was last I heard, this morning).
Bod--Go with Buffy. I would have said that Green Goddess is just like Blue Cheese if one substitutes avocado for the blue cheese. Goes to show what I know. I was sure that it contained sour cream. Buffy's the cook, and we've just demonstrated one more reason why! (I'm convinced that she could make anything--and I'm not too sure that I should limit that to food creations. *smiling*)

I pull a few weeds (because I see them while going to the mailbox, etc), but I've deferred real yard work until it cools down. Not even mowing. Don't think the grass needs the stress of it.
