Winter Wonderland

We've had 29 straight days of weather warmer than the norm. Thursday it was FIFTY degrees, and Friday it was in the forties.

Tonight it's snowing. We expect to get three to six inches before it stops early Saturday morning.

There's so much light from our city reflected off the snow that I can turn off the lights and find my way around the house without a problem. Each branch is covered with fluffy snow, and looks absolutely gorgeous, and they are predicting it won't last more than a day.

We might as well enjoy it while we can. Anybody for a snowball fight??

bod:

im up for the fight buffy.

dave:

I want to be there and enjoy the snow. It sound like one of those wet big flake ones.

You noticed the same thing about your snowfall as I noticed about ours -- the increased light in my kitchen from the reflection off the snow. But you better turn down the heat around there or its going to be gone before you know it.

I'm not up for a snowball fight but with those kind of temps maybe an iced lemonade would be good!

It's good snow for reading the animal tracks and making snow angels. It's wet and thick and puffy. I heard that north of us in Wisconsin they got 11-12 inches last night. We got about four inches all told.

Dave...you and bod get started and I'll join you in a bit. Roberta, I better not wait too long, or I'll have to make that lemondade! You're right, the weather is really changeable these days.

If you can get me in the snow, snowball fights are my speciality. However, I must warn you I play dirty LOL

I have NO DOUBT about that! lol I'd want to be standing behind Tex if we were in a snowball fight, but I'd want Dear Husband and Elegante Mother on my side. They fight dirty, too!

Now that's my kind of snow! Here today and gone tomorrow.

Joe:

I gauge the winter by how much golf I get to play! I have played almost every week so far! Have a good week girl!

buffy:

Oddly, Susan, the forecasters were wrong. The snow is still with us. It's melted off the thinest of the branches, but is still on the trunks of the trees and the ground.

Joe, with the exception of the last four days, we could have played golf all January! My stepson was an avid golfer. Native Floridians used to think he was crazy for playing golf in the sixties in shirt sleeves. To him, that was still warm weather, while they were shivering and lighting fires in their fireplaces! lol

We too have had warmer temps than normal (though I have not been counting the days as you have).

I was at the mall today and a woman (that I don't know) smiled as she and I passed eachother - she said "Wonderful having spring at this time of year" ... whichit is, it is warm, melting and bright (well... was during the day, but now it is night).
Goodnight.
