I wanted you to see the ornamental grass that grows at the corner of the house. It's been there for years, and is the most modest of plants until about the third week of August, and then it just explodes, covering the sidewalk and anything near it.
We had a little visitor who was hiding in it. It never occurred to me that it might provide a highway for small animals who need cover as they travel through the area. I'll have to watch to see if Ed sits and watches the grass.

The grass is beautiful...along with your sidewalk and other plants. What a beautiful view.

Thank you, Pennie! I'm in the process of a two (or maybe three)-year long renovation of the gardens, but I think I may just leave that grass where it is. *S*

Awesome picture Kity. I wish I could grow plants like that.

Truth be told, Mina, all I did was put it into the ground. I don't water it; I don't fertilize it. IF I remember in time, I cut it back in the spring.
I guess I'm just lucky!

Do you have problems with it spreading? My one experience of ornamental grass was that it spread everywhere. That's why we don't have any in our garden.

No, Adele. THe clump has grown, but not spread significantly. None of the ornamental grass that I've chosen has spread.
One of my favorites is a purple miscanthus that is an annual. You'd love it!
