Are you busier in the summer?
We tend to lead pretty quiet lives, but everything picks up in the summer. I think the only quiet time in my week is Saturday night.
One of my stepsons is coming for a ten day visit. My sister and her family will be here for five days over the Fourth of July. My quilting bee will be here July first, I have a lunch date with a friend on Thursday, and a trip to visit Hornbaker's Gardens this Saturday. Three of Dear Husband's kids have birthdays in the next thirty days, as does our daughter-in-law and at least three of my family.
My gardens take up a major portion of my week well into July, and then I'll retreat inside to miss the heat. I'd like to get back to my quilting, but office work, and transporting my mother to her appointments frequently fill my time.
Whine.......I think you need to give me a little cheese with that whine....
Okay....I'm not whining, I'm just making lists of all that's coming my way. I am so anal that I started making a list of meals that I'd need to provide when all our guests are here.
Don't you think we're busier in the summer???

Definitely busier in the summer. That's when it's not raining or snowing so we can get some yard work doen - or work on the house.

Yard work always means I work a lot harder in the summer--usually about 10 hours/week harder.
Before I forget to ask you, Buffy: Whatever happened with the yellow and purple lap quilt that your Elegant Mother was going to make for your Second Sister? Did I miss its completion?
I know that I shared Barb Vlack's advice for going electronic in quilt designing with you, Buffy; but, your other readers may not have been exposed.
The following advice was given to someone who was contemplating buying EQ4. The same could be said about EQ5 or any other quilting software.
"Before you sit down and start your exploration of what all you can get EQ4 to do, put 10 casseroles in the freezer so you won't have the hungry wolves baying at your door and interrupting you.
"Become good friends with your crock pot.
"When asked what you're going to make for dinner, say, 'Reservations.'
"Sell a quilt so you can pay for a cleaning lady."

(looking aghast) SELL A QUILT????
The rest of it's great advice. DH will just have to spring for a cleaning lady to make me happy. I'm not selling one of my quilts. I don't have enough time to make all the ideas in my head, and all of them are keepers!
Cop Car, Elegant Mother is working on the binding for that quilt. I'll be sure to take pictures of it before it gets away from us. I'm pleased to say that she accepted my suggestion for the backing. It's a seafoam green flannel that is very restful, and will be lovely to touch.
Bogie, there are days in my growing season when I LONG for a shorter season, but I suppose that I'd just have to cram all that I do into less time. Maybe it's a good thing that it lasts from April to October.
