Over the River and Through the Woods...

Actually, that's a teaser. There aren't a lot of woods in North Central Illinois.

Elegant Mother has packed up and gone to visit her youngest daughter for a couple of days. I went off to exercise yesterday while she was packing her bags, and came home to find her ready to be off!

Youngest Sister drove up to collect her Godmother and Elegant Mother, and we all had lunch together before they left for Indiana. The ladies will have two days of travel and two days of visits.

Fairy Godmother is a sprightly lady in her eighties (I believe), who has not had the chance to visit with either my sister or my mother, in quite a long time. FG still has a quirky sense of humor and incredible love of life. She's a very vital lady.

When we parted after lunch, she was installed in the front passenger seat of my sister's car. Normally, that seat goes to the navigator, but in her case, I think we'll say she was "riding shotgun!"

I volunteered to meet them at the Illinois/Indiana border at noon on Saturday, to bring EM and FG home. I suspect that three days with the two of them will be similar to a decaf drinker having a double shot of espresso! YS is going to need a day or two to recover!

Wow! Im hope they enjoyed their visit. I use to loce to drive now it is a pain in the kester!

They had a great visit, Joe! I had to run two errands here before I left for Indiana, so I was in the car from 8:20 until 5:00, with part of an hour at lunchtime. It was a LONG DAY! Still, it was fun to talk with the ladies and the trip was an easy one.

Have a good Sunday. Enjoy the Master's, Joe.

Ah, Buffy, so THAT's what Hunky Husband has been watching--the Master's. Any drive longer than 30 minutes doesn't fit my definition of "easy"; but, glad that you thought that YOUR drive was in that category. Your EM is probably pooped. Did she talk your ear off on the way home, or catch a few winks?

Buffy:

You didn't look to see what he was watching??

I'm not a huge fan of long trips, but this one wasn't too bad. Elegant Mother and Fairy Godmother talked an arm and a leg off me on the way home. We made it to the door about five in the afternoon, and EM had a cup of soup and was in bed soon thereafter. It had been a LONG day in the car for her.

I had once glanced at HH's TV in his living room as I passed by and it was golf. Then, later, in his den, I caught a glimpse of someone playing golf on his TV in there, but thought he was watching an instructional video. I ignore the TVs as much as possible. I didn't even get around to watching my (taped) West Wings this last week. Obviously, MY TV doesn't get turned "on" very much; but, it is in the same room with my computer and with my recliner (where, in addition to reading, I knit and embroider), so I spend a lot of time in the same room with it.

I can imagine that your Elegant Mother would be pretty exhausted. You have to give us more background on your Fairy Godmother (or have I been dozing, again?)

buffy:

I haven't given a lot of background on Fairy Godmother. She's a neat lady. When I have the chance to blog again, I'll try to give some information on her.
