100 Yards

My niece brought me bad news this evening.

We were seated at the dinner table when she announced that to work off the calories of ONE M&M, you have to walk the distance of a football field, or 100 yards.

Of course, the first thought in my mind was the M&Ms I had last week. The second was to wonder how many of them are in the small bag you pick up at the check out lane.

There aren't going to be any further thoughts about this.

OMG... I would have never guessed! :-(

Sad, isn't it?? I think I'll take to my bed to contemplate the unfairness of it all.... Well....that and the fact that it is almost 1:00 in the morning. :-)

Your Dear Husband will have to take you on more walks, Buffy. You can use the time to contemplate the M&Ms and the unfairness of it all!

OMG!
I already knew that there are 25 calories in one Hershey miniture, so I guess that requires walking 25 footballs fields!

I can work off a steak and potato (butter and sour cream added) dinner along with a bag of M&M's just by taking the dogs for a walk to the top of our road and back (probably the length of a football field one-way).
that would be because the dogs have not learned any manners (I am a horrible teacher apparently) and I spend most of the time twirling around trying to get the leashes unwrapped from aroung my legs while we are gioing up and down the hill.

And of course there is the strength contest of holding the dogs to the side of the rode while cars are passing by.

Can you guess who took the dogs out for the 1st walk of the season last night?

CC...Only if I can take M&Ms with me on the walk.

SUSAN!!! Don't rub it in!

Bogie...I bet you're thin as a reed with those dogs to exercise.

Buffy--She is, and always has been, thin like her dad, like my elder brother, and like all of my aunts and uncles. She isn't "thin as a reed", which wouldn't look as good as she does. Bogie is "thin" as in "not an ounce of fat".

Buffy:

I have a clear picture of HH in mind, so I think I can picture Bogie.

I have four siblings. Of the five of us, I have always been overweight, and they have (almost always) been thin. I wouldn't say that I am envious of my slim siblings, but I do regret that I don't have more control over my life.

There's a lot to be said for being slim...self confidence, good health, an active life as you age, and certainly a longer life are some of the biggies. Bogie, you've been blessed with good fortune, and the good sense to sustain those blessings.

Enjoy your dog walking duties! lol

Fortunately, I have gotten the dogs to remember what it is like to be on a leash. Actually, they weren't THAT bad on their first walk, but they certainly weren't going to be mistaken for highly trained critters!

I can feel for you, Buffy. As you well know, I am not on the thin side. I was thin enough in my youth; but, when I hit 50, it hit back--with about 50 extra pounds. Some of that has gone away, now; but, perhaps I need some dogs to walk. (No. They would destroy my knee in the process of wrapping their leashes about me.)
