All's well...

We had an absolutely lovely Easter weekend. I hope that you all did too!

I blogged about the fact that we were expecting some unusual changes to our celebration of Easter. Rather than have my extended family come to dinner, Elegant Mother, Dear Husband and I celebrated alone. It was a little odd, but lovely. It was still sunny outside when I set the table for dinner at five. I put out the china and crystal and candles just for the three of us.

When dinner was over, Dear Husband helped me to clean up, and then we all found relaxing things to do for the evening. Normally, clean up would occupy me through Monday morning. I'm sad that my family couldn't clear the decks to join us, but I really enjoyed the laid back weekend. We had a great time driving up to the new quilt shop, and a wonderful lunch on the way home. If you should come across a new fast food chain called "Asiago" in your travels, I highly recommend that you stop for lunch.

We've all recharged our batteries, and are ready for Spring. It's supposed to be 67 tomorrow. I'll be the one out in the gardens!

Now, at least, I know what Asiago IS, thanks to you. It will probably be a while before the chain shows up in Wichita. In Derby, the chains that we have (that come to mind) are: Sonic, McDonalds (two of them, yet!), Red Beans Grill, Applebees, Village Inn, Pizza Hut, Arby's, Mr. Good Cents, Taco Bell, Taco Tico, Subs 'n' Stuff. We're scheduled to get a Chili's this year. There are a few places that are strictly local, too; but, no haute cuisine.

There are a couple of places on your list we don't have. But then, you don't have a Portillos, a Rock Bottom, an Olive Garden, or dozens of others. We must be the fast food capital of the world! Dear Husband's personal favorite: White Castle, home of the Sliders. I'm addicted to Culver's at the moment, and I need to hit Tom and Jerry's Gyros King at least once a year!

Cop Car:

Wichita has at least one Olive Garden--to which I've not been in at least 5 years. Your gyros place sounds great. As to White Castles, HH's sister loves them, he hates them, I can take 'em or leave 'em. But, now, a NuWay is a whole 'nuther story! About the only chains at which we eat, here in Derby, are the Village Inn, Applebee's, Red Beans, and KFC (which I had failed to list, but we occasionally have their buffet). HH picks himself up some Taco Bell goodies if he doesn't feel like having whatever-it-was that I left him for lunch that day. Three or Four hard-shell Tacos and he's good to go!

I detest SLIDERS!!! I like what passes for Mexican food in this area, but I don't care for Taco Bell. We mut have four or five chains that offer Mexican food, but my favorite place is a little cantina downtown that's not part of a chain.
