We had quite a rain yesterday, and the Arr!! has now disappeared down my drive. I plan to weed and plant, weed and plant.
I have five Homestead purple verbena, five pots of ornamental grass, three butterfly bushes, five dahlias and five Joe Pye Weed to plant.
It's time to do the container gardens, and I have WEEDS to pull. There's quite a stand of Snow on the Mountain to be ripped out, and I need to kill off the soapwort that has invaded the center of my garden.
Lots to do! I hope you all have a GREAT weekend!

Hmm, so you garden while DH goes boating? I guess everybody has their vice! Enjoy. :-)

Well, weeding isn't my vice, it's just a chore that has to be done, and I can't get anyone else to do it. It's the GARDENING that I love. I suppose that the two can't be separated.
Thanks for visiting Dr. D. Is this the weekend you flew to Florida?

Buffy, I'm confused. How do you define gardening without including weeding? I am very peaceful while weeding, but it takes a team of horses to drag me out to do it. The heat is not for me (and it's always too cold or too hot to weed!) I (would) like to sit in the shade with a straw hat and glass of lemonade while watching a gardener putting the plants where I want them and keeping them alive and well!

Gardening is the pleasant part.....choosing plants and finding the right spots for them, enjoying the look that you create, or harvesting herbs for a meal. Weeding is a CHORE!
I said that it wasn't really easy to separate the two. I have a friend who's attention is fixed on soil amendments and cold frames. HE thinks about the preparation, and I think about the results!
