Tuesday Morning at Home

I'm blogging this morning, it the hope that I can get some entries made before I have to charge into my life. I'm enjoying a morning where I don't have any appointments, don't have to rush out to do errands, and don't have to take my mother somewhere. This is rare, so of course I'm spending the free time blogging! *G*

While I was in the shower, I was contemplating the fact that I want to assume a simpler life. It seems to me that I am failing, based on the list of THINGS that fill my life. For instance....the number of THINGS I come in contact with from the time I turn on the shower to the point where I am ready to get dressed. Have you ever though about how many products you use in that time span?

Here's my list of things I use on a morning when I am not expecting to have to see people other than my immediate family:

Turning on the water, stepping into the shower...

1. Liquid face cleanser
2. Shampoo
3. Conditioner
4. Dove soap or a shower gel from Bath & Body
5. A net scrubber
6. A razor
7. A luffa style back scrubber
8. A towel for my hair
9. A towel for the rest of me
10. Denture cleaner for my nightguard
11. Q-tips
12. Volumizer
13. Hair drier
14. Curling Iron
15. A hair pic
16. Hair spray
17. Floss
18. Toothbrush
19. Toothpaste
20. Mouthwash
21. Concealer
22. Eye liner
23. Mascara
24. Eye shadow
25. Blush
26. Perfume
27....I forgot.....a Moisturizer for my face, and sometimes I use Renergie for around my eyes....
28. Medicated cream for my legs and
29. Moisturizer for the rest of my body
30. A clutch of pills to get my body to work right, including a vitamin E gel, and a multi vitamin, and a small paper cup to hold the water
31. Almond scented lip balm made by a local bee keeper, and
32. Hand lotion

Okay....this is on a quiet day at home. Good God.....if there was ever a holocaust I'd be in serious trouble! Packing to go away for a few days could be serious business. And the worst of it is, I'd want to take more things because I'd need to be prepared for every necessity.

Right....I want the simple life. You can see why, now!

That is because you are female.

Guy's viewpoint:

Reading material & Toilet tissue.
Soap
Shampoo/Conditioner (in one preferably)
Soap
Water
1 Towel will do.
Deodorant +/- cologne.
Underwear.
Oh, I forgot...toothpaste.

Gotta love being a guy! ;-)

Cop Car:

Good gosh almighty, Buffy! For me, scratch your items 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 (I use the toothpaste for this), 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 (I floss at night), 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29 (I use hand lotion for this, too). Then add: Waterpik, small manual irrigator and peroxide (for a deep dental pocket), and Dawn (to wash my eyeglasses). As for travel: If you and HH traveled together you'd need to take a semi-trailer. He, too, likes to be prepared for any and every eventuality. Me--I figure that anything I'm missing can be purchased--or not--who cares?

Cop Car:

Dr. D--Thankfully, one of the items that HH takes on travel is a razor. He would love to join you bearded guys; but, if he does, we'll be exchanging greetings at a distance--LOL!

Doc....that's SO unfair! lol
Delete the first two lines and start with the shower....and delete the undies from the list. Add a comb and I think you're about tied with DH.

CopCar.....I envy you packing for a trip. I've started getting up earlier in the morning to get through all the moisturizers. I'd be happy to have 20 year old skin again.
