I was visiting the English blogs this morning and came across the Mr. 5000 war on Billy, Kev and Elsie's blogs. It seems Elsie has had 5000 visitors, and both Billy and Kevin claim to be number 5000.
That prompted me to go check my stats. When I wasn't looking it rolled past 8,000. I was the 8,088th visitor since late June, 2003. At this rate, by the time I reach one year of counting I should have had more than 10,000 hits. Unfortunately, probably a quarter of them are mine (or more).
April 23, 2004 is my first anniversary as a blogger. It's hard to believe that I am close to having blogged for a year. When we shift over to the new ISP I'll be able to edit out my own visits, and then we'll REALLY see how many people I put to sleep each night! *G*

Well, do you magic with the putting me to sleep, Buffy. I wish I could get to sleep! You continue to educate me as I didn't realize that whatever the counters do they would count your hits on your own blog. Interesting. You've provided much good, interesting reading, for which I thank you. We'll celebrate on the 23rd--your 1st blog anniversary and HH's and my 16th wedding anniversary (this time around.) What fun!

How many years is it if you add the two marriages together? I'll have to make a note of your anniversary. *S*
Most computer literate people go to the preferences section in Site Meter, or which ever company they are using for their stats, and instruct the program to ignore their own visits. I could do that, but I have a problem. Since I use AOL as my Internet Service Provider, I have a different ISP number every time I dial in. I would have to go to Site Meter and delete my number every day before I went to my blog, and I'm just too darned lazy to do that. When we go to cable, I'll remove myself from the totals.
