I'm in the weeds. I really should ask my children where that phrase comes from. I suppose it's something similar to being up to your gluteus maximus in alligators. As THE office for my husband's company, I get to do the filing and waivers, and bookkeeping and the payroll taxes. I handle phone calls and pay the bills. You know....the regular stuff.
Well one of the things I have to do is to close out the files for one year and create the files and binders for the new year. Usually I start making the new files in late November or early December. This year, I'm still trying to get to them.
I figure I have one full day of filing to do. And one full day of paperwork of various kinds. And about two hours setting up files and binders. Then, I want to renovate the filing system for past jobs, and that's another day's work. (Are you counting?? That's roughly three and a half days so far.) Then I want to overhaul the Assets folders, and create employee folders. I figure that brings the total up to four days.
I'd like to find some time SOON to do my thank you notes, and I have a couple of quilts I'm so close to finishing that I'd like a day just for sewing. And...it's time to start designing my gardens for the coming year. That's going to take me a while, so we can classify that as an ongoing project.
AND....my dining room table is covered with Christmas decorations that need to be reboxed and stored.
So, if you have read this far, you will see the trend here, and understand why I have not had a lot of time to blog. Please go on with your lives. I'll try to come visit you when I can, and in a week or two, maybe things will have calmed down enough for me to start serious posting. Until then, sign me off as
"in the weeds....."

oh my... the weeds are growing! Seems to happen here too at times, today there are a plenty. There is always other things 'I'd like to do' that never seem to make it to the getting done stage. Maybe, we should stay up all night for these things? Nah.... well, good luck getting through the thick of it!

On rare occasions I stay up until one or two in the morning to crank out work with no interruptions, but it ruins me for the next few days. You don't bounce back as easily as you age.
I have a LOAD of things "I want to do" that keep waiting for me. Perhaps that's really what this post was about, wanting to get to the fun things in life, and being swamped with the realities.
Thanks for your kind thoughts, Desiree!
