I had expected to be away just a day or so, and it's stretched out to four or five. Nothing earthshaking has happened here, I've just been caught up in my off-line life.
Sunday, we celebrated Dear Husband's birthday. Normally, the birthday person gets to determine what they do they day of their birthday, but DH had to give me a hand outside. I know it was at the bottom of a list of things he could have been doing, but I'm glad he bit the bullet and worked with me.
I went out about nine in the morning and started cutting back the daylilies along the south side of the house. I still need to mulch around them, and cover them with straw for the winter, but that side of the house is done. I have tons of plants to put to bed yet, but I'll just have to get to them as I can.
After about four hours on my hands and knees, I decided it was time for lunch. DH suggested I make a run to our favorite Italian beef place. Since it was his birthday, I acquiesced. While I was away, he raked most of the formal lawn near the house and dragged the leaves to the compost pile. Last night he said that the squirrels had been out on the lawn creating new piles of leaves for him to rake.
Later in the evening we met the kids for dinner. DH's only daughter is expecting her first child, and she wanted to share the ultrasound with the family. I wanted to laugh, because she passed it to her dad, who looked, and to me. I looked and passed it on to my mother, who tried to pass it on to one of her brothers, and it looked like the boys were both back pedaling to get away from it! I guess it was a case of TMI!!!
She's still in her first trimester, and is doing a lot of research on what's to come. We're getting weekly up dates. I hope she'll let me post her picture when she is a little further along.
At any rate, we had a full weekend. We got a lot of errands done, worked in the yard and spent time with our family. All in all, it was good. I hope yours was, too.

You have an off-line life? Curious...I'd heard of such a thing but I assumed it was just a myth...a bit like Big Foot or that McDonalds is good for you. And Happy Belated Birthday to Hubby :)

I'll pass your comments to DH. *S*
Pob, if I have to have an off-line life, I wish more of it was fun! There's too much office work, cleaning, chauffeuring, cooking, laundry and weeding. One good thing about it....I NEVER have to play that "Do you know what day it is?" game! *G*
