Numbers

Everyone has been talking about numbers lately. It seems contageous.

Out of curiosity, I went to Site Meter to see how many visitors I've had, and in four more visits I will hit 3000. Of course, this includes my own visits. When I get to shift from AOL to a dsl line, I will take myself out of the picture, but until then, my ever changing ISP number makes it a pain to edit my visits out.

I'm not sure of my exact start date with Site Meter, but I think we cranked it up about this time in June, so I figure it has been just about three months.

Bogie, I'm sure by now you have rolled over the 5,000 mark. Congrats, hon!

Congrats on hitting 3,000!

...heh...when I started my first blog 75% of my hits in the first week were me checking how many hits I had :^)...now (because bogie said I had to) my isp doesn't count :^(...

Yeah....I discovered a while back it's not kosher to count your own visits. And, like you, I visit frequently, because I use my own links to visit favorite blogs. Perhaps I can put my links into my favorites file and lower the number of times I visit my own blog. It would be easier than having to go to site meter everytime I log on to AOL.

Izzy:

If you want a visitor counter that can block your computer, you might want to try the free counter offered at GoStats.com

It blocks your computer using a cookie, therefore getting around that pesky dynamic IP problem. :-)
