The last few days have been unusually busy, and I'm finding it difficult to squeeze everything in. The crash of our hard drive put me back in office work, and created a bit more to do, so I'm trying to play catch-up and still take care of the daily flow of work. Exercise has resumed, and yesterday I visited a friend in the hospital. I've taken the car for it's emission testing, and swapped a waiver for a check for the company. I've grocery shopped twice this week, and taken the cat to the vet, and all this is on top of the normal laundry, cleaning, watering and dishes and office work. I'm dying to get back to my quilting frame and my sewing table, and it looks like it might have to wait until Monday.
It seems the next two months are already unusually booked up, and by mid-November we are usually preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I can't figure out where the year has gone. I suppose the speeding up of time is a function of growing older, but it's one I could give up.
When computers were first becoming available to the average person, they were touted as labor saving devices. Little did we know then that they would merely increase our load, because of the wonderful things they can do. Number crunching and word processing is at an all time high, and so is the time necessary to input the data, and keep the machines running.
I speak of computers, because it seems that since I have become tied to one during the day I accomplish less and less in other areas. In all fairness, I may be working slower. I don't have the speed I had at 20, or the stamina, so better organization of my time seems to be the only way to deal with what needs to be done.
For some time I've been trying to tell myself that I have to get up earlier. I've been gradually moving my wakeup call back. It's rare for me to sleep past 6:30 in the morning, but my goal is closer to 5:00. Dear Husband rises at 4:30 (how CAN he do it??) If I rose at 5:00 or 5:15, perhaps I could use those early hours to either get chores out of the way, or crank out work in the office. I'm going to have to learn to go to bed at 9:00 willingly. There goes New Year's Eve!
Back to the salt mines......
