Excellent point. I won't stop eating eggs or chickens for that matter so I'll make it a point to thank the next chicken I see for her sacrifices.

...urban myth #172...kfc had to change their name from 'kentucky fried chicken' because they have developed a new breed of chicken that has 12 legs and 8 breasts...food inspectors were demanding the name change to 'kentucky fried caterpillar'...the compromise was kfc...obviously this is totally false :^)...

yes... you are correct, they have to push them eggs out --fortunate for them the shell is soft when they lay them, can you imagine pushing out something like that hard! Even though our babes are soft, they have them firm heads that we have to push out first!
So.. enjoy your eggs, but thank the chickens as you do.

I like eggs, and your point is well taken. However, eggs are one of those things that, if I think too much about where they come from I probably would not eat them. If I properly recall my biology, eggs are squeezed from the chicken's cloaca, which is a fancy name for the single hole that hens use for shitting, pissing and screwing.
I prefer to think of them as coming from the supermarket.
