Security

Did you know that Fellowes has created a shredder that will shred CDs, paper clips, and credit cards? (Model PS70-2CD $180). Since we now store so much of our personal information on CDs, I suppose this is a wise thing. Pardon my ignorance, but isn't it possible to erase a CD?? That would be a lot cheaper than shredding the suckers.

For those of you on a tight budget, the Royal MD 100 "Media Destroyer" is only a hundred bucks.

Only re-writable CD's can be erased. Your standard CD can't be - the info is on there forever.

That shredder would com in handy every once in a while. Cutting up credit cards and old health insurance cards can be hard on the hands (of course I probably cut them up way finer than they really need to be).

I can't for the life of me figure out why I would want to shred paper clips though.

Thanks, bogie. Now I see the need to shred them. As for the paper clips, there IS no need to shred them. I figured they were either telling you it was safe if you forgot to remove the paper clip, or were saying how tough the device is.
