Tollway Screwups Part III

I wrote about the Chicago Tollway Authority and their push to collect all the unpaid tolls for the past two years, on June 9, 2003. That post has been a magnet for people who want to tell their stories.

The CTA was refusing to allow people to make payment plans. They have been demanding payment for two years of tolls and fines within 16 days. It was announced that those with fines over $500 could arrange to make payments, but it must not have gone into place in time for the last woman who commented.

Go read the comments and see how things are shaping up.

...ooops...now I'm worried...last time we were in the us of a we stayed with friends in florida...they have one of those 'fastpass' type machines which we took in my rental when we drove down to the keys...it failed to record 3 times whilst passing through tolls...does this mean I am now a wanted man?...I was thinking of visiting in october...will I get through customs?...will you come and visit me in prison :^)...

billy, how do you look in an orange jail jumpsuit?? Will it suit your coloring? Florida is a 24 hour drive for me....I don't know about frequent visits! lol

Actually, I think that when the IPASS in Illinois doesn't record, they assume it is mechanical failure. When the tollbooths don't record, they assume it's the toll PAYER'S fault. Sounds like suspicious logic to me.
