I’m having a terrible time staying awake! I’ve only had six or so hours of sleep, and that’s about two, perhaps two and a half, too few. If I stay at the computer, I’m going to nod off. I have a number of things to do that will keep me on my feet, so that is the game plan for the day.
I need to collect the decorations for the Thanksgiving tables all in one place, out of the way. I have a few things that need to go to the basement to be stored while we have guests here. I have a Fall themed wreath to put up in the living room. I need to make gazillions of chocolate chip cookies for four kids in college. I want to send off some care packages for the last week before Thanksgiving. The boxes are ready to go except for the cookies and name tags.
We are collecting things for the troops for Christmas. I’ve started the tubes for neck coolers in camouflage materials. We still have to insert the crystals that swell and hold water, and sew the ends shut. I also need to sew binding for the last two quits, and stitch it to the fronts of the quilts. Then I could sit with D.H. and hand sew at night.
I still need to put together the head count for Thanksgiving at our house, but if I sit to do that, I’ll be a goner. It will have to wait until I’ve had a nap.
So…..I better get myself in gear, or I will STILL be here hours from now, sawing logs. I hope you’re all having good fall!
You and I must be polar opposites when it comes to sleeping, Buffy. Last night was the first full night’s sleep that I’ve had for about a week–most nights having to make do on 3 or 4 hours. I’ll try not to sleep so much tonight–leaving some for you! *grin*
you are one very busy lady kitty!
Hope you managed to get some sleep!
Thanks, ladies. I went to bed early that night, and I got a little more sack time today.
Cop Car, are you not able to sleep, or do you not need the rest?
I’ve always needed a fair amount of sleep, so missing two hours a night for a couple of nights in a row makes me a wreck!
bod, as far as being busy, I think that I may be the least busy in my family, but I can’t be sure of that. It’s difficult to compare our lives, because I work at home, and that puts a different complexion on things.
Buffy–I could certainly use the sleep; but, in my whole life I’ve not been a good sleeper. About 50% of the time I must “do” on 5 hours’ sleep. I really suffer on those nights (an additional 5% – 10%) when I get from 0 to 2 hours’. When I sleep for more than 6 or 7 hours, HH comes in to see if I’ve died in my sleep. It is remarkable when I get 8 or 9 hours’ sleep.
More than you really wanted/needed to know, eh?!
Bod, It looks worse in print than it is! *G* I wish my days were filled with more momentous activities, but ultimately, doing things for family is most important for me right now.
Cop Car, I don’t understand how you can keep up with your busy life when you can’t sleep! If I only manage to sack out for six hours, I’m a wreck the next day, and it takes me forever to catch up. I find it hard to be pleasant when I am tired all the time, and the quality of my work suffers. I hate that I don’t sleep soundly thought the night any more, when I used to sleep like a ROCK until I was 50.
I check on EM the way HH checks on you, if you sleep long. I want to be sure she is breathing…and I’ll stand quietly at the door until I’ve seen the covers rise. *S* It’s what we do for loved ones.
I hope you get some quality sleep this winter. Think HIBERNATION!!!!
