You really lucked out, this year! That helps the old energy bill, doesn’t it? We’ve not used the air conditioner a great deal this spring, but we first cranked it on in mid-April. For the last few days I’ve not been able to open the windows at night due to the high “low temperatures” and/or the humidity.
I had to turn the heat on on Friday and the AC on Sunday. I thought having to turn the heat on in May was bad enough, but having to turn it on in June is unbelievable!
While I like a cooler environment than most people, I’m willing to be reasonable so that EM isn’t always blue with cold. We tend to air condition to about 76-78 as a compromise. What I REALLY need it for is to dry out the air. The Chicago area is surprisingly humid.
Susan, we all know that Spring is a period of change, but it’s been really odd this year. Turning on the heat in JUNE….that’s a record!
Cop Car, yes we DID luck out on the energy bills. I had that in mind as I tried to wait out the heat. Mother Nature was brilliant at keeping us on the cool side.
This may be the first year that we’ve had windows open on a daily basis for years, and I had fogotten how LOUD the baby birds can be! Even at night, when we’re trying to sleep, there’s a circus going on outside! When it’s really humid, we may get some sleep just because we won’t be able to hear the critters.
