Sis….I didn’t realize that you had been at your school for TWELVE YEARS! Had I been pressed for a guess, I might have said seven or maybe eight. Where has the time gone? Congratulations to you for continuing to take such good care of kids who really need to have someone care about them. Your halo is assured!

I know! It doesn’t seem like it’s been twelve years, but I know I don’t have the energy I used to. . . and that may be part of my success. I spend more time listening and observing rather than reacting. (There IS wisdom in aging!) I don’t put up with any more than I used to, but deliberateness in my responses make for better teaching, I’ve discovered.
So there IS a trade-off. We may not have the energy we had at 20, but we learn to use our time more wisely. You’re a heck of a teacher. You do us proud!
