I have written my thoughts about school uniforms in the recent past. I feel that the casual clothing kids wear today makes it impossible to create an environment where the students can focus on the lessons.
I was delighted to hear that one school has announced that short t-shirts which reveal the belly are banned. Neither the students, nor the teachers may wear them. Should a student come to school in one, they will be greeted at the door and handed an oversized T-shirt to wear for the day.
The students dislike wearing the oversized T-shirts so much, that they are changing their wardrobes.
Clever….very clever.

THe oversized tees is a very clever answer to the problem! 🙂 I do agree with uniforms, make the focus be on EDUCATION, not cliques and looks.
…and what happens to teachers who turn up in ‘belly-shirts’?…enquiring minds want to know :^)…

…although thinking of some of me ex-colleagues in belly-shirts – it sure would help their discipline in class….just through sheer fear :^)..
Q15’s school district has always been very strict on their dress code ~ I was very fortunate in landing in a good school district for him when making the move from NC to TX. And a complet “EEEEWWWWW” at teacher’s in short crop tops!!!
