I was getting ready to make a trip last weekend, and took the time to send Cop Car a note. I told her about all the things I wanted to get done before we left. I had cleaning and laundry to do, and some bookkeeping for the company. I wanted to water the container garden and feed the birds and pack the car. It was important to me that the house be clean when I left, so that I wouldn’t come home after a great weekend and feel that I had to clean.
\nYou’ll have to ask Cop Car to tell you about the all the cleaning she did the day before her oldest daughter was born. We must think alike, because coming home to a clean house is high on our list of preferences.<\/p>\n
\nDear Husband and his partner own a masonry corporation. I do most of the office work for them. Since I am the only office worker, I worry about leaving information for the CPA in case I can’t make it back to the office. (You know…..I could get run over by a truck, or I could decide that now is a good time to abscond with the dough and run off to some suitably warm climate.) Since a “stranger” will be in the office, it’s important to me that they can find things, and that the office is clean. I used to type up several pages of information noting where I was in the bookkeeping process, and who should be called in case of emergency. Now that we are computerized, most of that information is at the CPA’s disposal.
\nI’d say that I have relaxed my standards a touch over the years, but I doubt that Dear Husband would agree. I can’t just walk out the door and buy a toothbrush where ever I am going. Actually, that sounds like a lot of fun, but I’d like to be able to take some of my clothes, too!
\nAre you mired in preparations, or are you a free spirit? Can you take off on a day trip with out first checking to see what’s in your purse, or do you need to be sure that you have tissues, and mints, a tea bag, and a map all tucked away??
