We’ve had a really lazy day, today. The boys came early this morning, probably expecting that I would work them into the ground again. I wasn’t quite ready for the CPA’s assistant, who was supposed to visit today, so I sent the boys off to snooze for a bit while I finished up.
\nI was just about ready to leave the office when the assistant called to let me know that she was ill and would have to reschedule. I stepped into the living room to find that both boys were sound asleep, even though it was about 8:30. I went back to work for a bit. At 10:00 I checked on them again….and they were STILL sound asleep. I bet you can tell I haven’t raised a male teenager.
\nRather than wake them, I made a quick trip to the grocery store. They heard me bring the groceries in, and their stomachs must have suggested it was time to get up.<\/p>\n
\nWe had lunch, and then did the only outdoor chores that I was willing to deal with today. The oldest boy trimmed a few spots with the lawn mower. We’ve been in drought for the past month, so there wasn’t much to do. The youngest one watered the front garden where I have new plantings, and then watered my herb garden. I fed the birds and started a red cabbage casserole for dinner.
\nMy plan was to take the boys to the basement, where it’s nice and cool, and do a little cleaning. I have boxes to be broken down, boxes to be reorganized, and stuff to be carted out so that we can get to a section of the floor and clean. I came around the corner to call to them, and found the oldest one sacked out on the couch again. Maybe it’s a good day to slack off…..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
