I blogged earlier this month about the fact that we were going to have an unusual Easter this year. Normally we have between 25 and 35 family members here for dinner during the afternoon. This year, for a number of reasons, my family has scattered to the four corners and as of today there will be just three of us here: Dear Husband, Elegant Mother and myself.<\/p>\n
\nI plan to take Elegant Mother to church, and then come home to prepare a meal. Since we already have the ham, I’ll fix the meal that was in the planning stages, in smaller amounts.
\nGiven that it’s just the three of us, I’ll be able to have a more laid back weekend. I think I’ll take my mother to a quilt shop that I’ve been longing to visit, and stop at a new place for lunch on the way home. Rather than rushing to create the new wreaths for my front door and fireplace face, I’ll take my time. I’ll get to commune with my cat, and check the gardens for new starts popping out of the ground.
\nIn all, it should be a calmer day than most of our Easters have been. I love my family dearly. I don’t get to see enough of them. But, I don’t feel that they should feel obligated to be here for a meal, especially when it causes them a hardship. So……..everybody take a deep breath. Relax your shoulders. And find a moment to say a prayer. Happy Easter, guys!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
