I think it&#8217;s a superb way to assess a life.  It may not be totally complete, but it sure gives you a way to measure your growth in a variety of ways.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t know who originally penned these thoughts, but I&#8217;d be more than happy to give them credit fo their work.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.one old love<br \/>\nshe can imagine<br \/>\ngoing back to&#8230;<br \/>\nand one who reminds<br \/>\nher how far she has come&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.enough money within her<br \/>\ncontrol to move out and<br \/>\nrent a place of her own<br \/>\neven if she never wants<br \/>\nto or needs to&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.something perfect to wear if<br \/>\nthe employer or date of her dreams<br \/>\nwants to see her in an hour&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.a youth she&#8217;s content<br \/>\nto leave behind&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.a past juicy enough that<br \/>\nshe&#8217;s looking forward to<br \/>\nretelling it in her old age&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.a set of screwdrivers, a<br \/>\ncordless drill, and a black<br \/>\nlace bra&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.one friend who always makes<br \/>\nher laugh&#8230;. and one who lets<br \/>\nher cry&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.a good piece of furniture<br \/>\nnot previously owned by anyone<br \/>\nelse in her family&#8230;<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.eight matching plates, wine<br \/>\nglasses with stems, and a recipe<br \/>\nfor a meal that will make her<br \/>\nguests feel honored..<br \/>\nA WOMAN SHOULD HAVE<br \/>\n&#8230;.a feeling of control over<br \/>\nher destiny&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.how to fall in love without<br \/>\nlosing herself&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.how to quit a job,<br \/>\nbreak up with a lover,<br \/>\nand confront a friend<br \/>\nwithout ruining the friendship&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.when to try harder&#8230; and<br \/>\nwhen to walk away&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.that she can&#8217;t change the<br \/>\nlength of her calves, the width<br \/>\nof her hips, or the nature of her<br \/>\nparents&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.that her childhood may not<br \/>\nhave been perfect&#8230;but it&#8217;s<br \/>\nover&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.what she would and wouldn&#8217;t<br \/>\ndo for love or more&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.how to live alone&#8230; even if<br \/>\nshe doesn&#8217;t like it&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.whom she can trust,<br \/>\nwhom she can&#8217;t,<br \/>\nand why she shouldn&#8217;t<br \/>\ntake it personally&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.where to go&#8230;<br \/>\nbe it to her best friend&#8217;s kitchen table&#8230;<br \/>\nor a charming inn in the woods&#8230;<br \/>\nwhen her soul needs soothing&#8230;<br \/>\nEVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;.what she can and can&#8217;t<br \/>\naccomplish in a day&#8230;<br \/>\na month&#8230;and a year&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following post has been sent to me a dozen or more times in the five years I have been on-line.
