The house sits higher than the road, and there&#8217;s a raised area and then a gentle slope down the lawn.  In that raised area we&#8217;ve planted a forsythia bush and a star magnolia.<br \/>\nFor some reason, they have been slow to bloom this spring, despite the fact that we had a reasonably gentle winter.  But today&#8230;..they are both starting to show their glory!  I plan to take my trusty disposable camera out to record some of that beauty, so perhaps I&#8217;ll be able to share it with you before Spring is over.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nOn the north side of the house we have a wonderful patch of naturalized Spring flowers that have a blue bloom.  I think they might be &#8220;squill&#8221; but I&#8217;m not certain.  One of the joys of living in one place for a length of time is that you get to see how natural things develop and expand.  This patch was tiny 15 years ago, and now it&#8217;s spread.  The best part of it is that the bulbs or seeds must be spread by our wildlife, because I have tiny blue blooms popping up all over the place!
