I’ve missed my on-line family! It seems that it’s my style to go for a few days between posting, so I really appreciate those of you who take the time to visit, to see if I’ve been around. Some days I get to browse through blogs, and other days I choose to write instead. I envy those of you who get to do both.<\/p>\n
\nI’ve been plugging away on the quilt you saw a few weeks ago. There are six pieces to each twelve inch block. The block is pieced in two sections. Tonight I assembled more than half of the blocks. I have all the triangles cut out. I have to piece a few more verticle strips in shades of orange, and I have to cut out about ten more pieces of batik. It’s possible that I will have this pieced by the end of February, and then it will be a matter of choosing a backing. YEAH! I love it when a quilt moves right along!
\nMy oldest sister and I are going to host a family potluck and baby shower for my daughter and one of my nieces. I was at Office Max last Thursday, and I found some baby shower invitations, so I will most likely need a morning to play around on the computer. Mother has offered to hand address them, or I would have simply done the envelopes on the computer, too. She feels that’s tacky. *S* So, the next step will be designing the menu. One of my nieces is doing appetizers. She asked what our theme was. I couldn’t answer her. Besides food and baby gifts, I hadn’t given it a thought. Any suggestions?
\nI opened my first gardening catelog on Sunday morning. If I had had my druthers, I would have stayed right there reading one seed catalog after another all day, but chores called. We’re supposed to have a rainy day later this week. I may spend the day planning my gardens.
\nMy exercise leader has been sneaking in a few new exercises each session. Right now I can feel muscles in my thighs I forgot were there. I’m glad she’s working us. With all that gardening coming our way, I need to be prepared.
\nI can tell Spring is coming. I suspect other women will identify with this, when I say that I’ve started a list of things to do, to get the house into order for the warm months. I don’t bother calling it my “Honey-do” list, because DH won’t be around for most of this. I have a list of phone numbers to call, and I plan to find a few new suspects for that list. DH will have to help me with a little work in the gardens, but for the most part he will disappear to the boat in the back yard. Spring for him means painting a boat and working on it’s engine before it’s craned into the water again.
