I’m loosing on-line friends. A number of people have decided to call it quits in the blogging world. Writers of blogs I’ve read regularly, and people I’ve just come to know.
\nIt seems that several of them have packed it in because their blogs were beginning to become too personal. It’s the nature of a blog to disclose ever more of yourself, and perhaps they felt there was risk in being so open.<\/p>\n
\nI can certainly understand. I’ve edited my words and stayed away from personal issues. But it would be such a relief to be able to say those deepest thoughts. I envy those who “let it all hang out.”
\nThe thing that keeps us from sharing those secrets is that this is a PUBLIC venue. You can find your words at Google, and anyone can use them or twist them and ultimately cause you hurt. And none of us need any more pain.
\nAs I’ve read your blogs, you’ve become friends. And when friends hurt, you want to help. It’s not as though I can drive over to your house and visit with you. I can’t give you a hug and reassure you. But a friend supports a friend in times of need. Words will have to do, for the moment.
\nPlease, God, make my words sufficient to the task.
