{"id":2223,"date":"2014-05-10T21:34:56","date_gmt":"2014-05-11T04:34:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.redeaglespirit.com\/arrrgh\/?p=2223"},"modified":"2014-05-10T21:34:56","modified_gmt":"2014-05-11T04:34:56","slug":"it-smells-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.redeaglespirit.com\/arrrgh\/it-smells-green\/","title":{"rendered":"It Smells Green"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was a beautiful, sunny day today.\u00a0 This is the first day we have both been out working on the lawn and gardens.\u00a0 Dear Husband was mowing the lawn, (trying to kill the lawn mower), and\u00a0repairing the lawn mower.\u00a0 I spent my time in the sun working on the herb garden.\u00a0 Between the chives I ripped out, and the grass DH cut, the air smells very green.<\/p>\n<p>I cleaned out half of the walkway today, and turned the dirt in four sections of the herb beds.\u00a0 I have two larger spaces to turn, and I want to add composted topsoil to the beds.\u00a0 I have nasturtium seeds, and wildflower seeds, a pear tomato plant, and a pickle cucumber\u00a0start to plant in the herb bed.\u00a0 I may add basil and flat leaf parsley next week.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m fairly certain there is a bunny abode beneath my oregano plants.\u00a0 I have enough oregano to stock the kitchens of Northern Illinois, and I noticed that one pod of it is raised in a very odd manner.\u00a0 I thought about digging up the plant, but I think I&#8217;ll leave it for the new owners.\u00a0 They can decide what goes and what stays.<\/p>\n<p>The chives are about ready to bloom.\u00a0 The clematis is reaching up, and we guided it to the arbor today.\u00a0 The lemon balm, thyme,\u00a0 spearmint, lamb&#8217;s ears, purple coneflower and day lilies are\u00a0all doing well, in addition to the oregano.
