I know that Bogie doesn’t want to hear about this, but the signs are beginning to mount in the Chicago area……..Fall is coming.
\n1 The goldfinches are eating the seeds from the heads of the purple coneflowers.
\n2. The bean fields are beginning to show some yellow areas. (A good time to do a little aerial photography.!
\n3. School is IN!
\n4. The cat keeps bringing in burrs on his fur.
\n5. Young maple trees have started to change color
\n6. The Thyme and Basil plants are flowering.
\n7. We’ve bought our first chrysanthemums for the year.
\n8. and I’ve felt the crisp air of Fall one day two weeks ago….a harbinger of the cool air to come!
\nI’m not pushing to get to winter, but these are all things we’ve seen at Casa Buffy. I don’t do well in the heat, despite the fact that I love the growing season.
