A Roving I Will Go

Well, actually, I won’t be roving….but making a trip to my youngest sister’s for the weekend. Roving would imply that I am going to wander. Even though I plan to take a new route, I still have a definite plan, and destination in mind.
Dear Husband and my mother and I will be making this same trip in mid October. I don’t usually make the trip more than twice a year, and sometimes just once. So, when Younger Sis asked me to visit, I had to think twice about it. The answer, of course, was…WHY NOT??

YS’s oldest daughter (she has two) is a freshman in high school this year, and has joined the marching band. All summer long she’s been writing to me, telling me what steps she’s learned, and how many hours they had practiced. Her band has a history of being award winning, so I was delighted to hear that we would be watching them Friday night on the football field, and Saturday evening at a band contest.
Well, today YS called to say there had been a change in plans. The band director is not happy with how the closer is shaping up, so he’s pulled them from the contest, and they will practice for EIGHT HOURS on Saturday! And if that isn’t bad enough…they might be rained out on Friday night. Talk about bummed out!
On the brighter side of things, I’ll have a little more time with just my family. We’ll have to see how things go.
So, I’ll be away, at least until Sunday evening. I’m leaving the watering and the bird feeding to the guys, and the kitchen to whomever gets there first.
Please keep me in your prayers that I might have a safe journey, and I’ll visit with you all soon.

  1. Thanks, Doc! I did…and I did. The trip was fine. I had a laid back visit with my sis and her family, and a pleasant drive through the farmland.
