How do you get your daily news? Are you a newspaper reader, or do you listen to the radio? Perhaps you watch the news on TV as you have dinner, or do you surf at CNN or other sites on the Internet during the day?
In my lifetime there has always been a newspaper in the house. My mother always read the newspaper, and I recall her comments about the change in quality of reporting when they moved from the Chicago area to Southwestern Missouri. She tells me that my father preferred not to read the paper. Instead, he asked Mother for the highlights of the day
…carolyn gets up at 7 and from then ’til 9 she watches news programmes, either the bbc or cnn…then during the day she informs me of stuff if she thinks I’m bothered…I get a newspaper every saturday and sunday and sometimes I finish reading them by tuesday :^)…
I have my home page on news and we also get the paper ~ I don’t watch the news on TV that often only about once a week if even that.
My home page is on the news. I also get the newspaper. I read it all but the sports, just not my thing. In the last couple years I found myself reading the obits everyday. I thought only old people did that. LOL. But, then I started finding people I knew in there. The freakiest obit was a girl I dated long before marrying Dudette. Death has no age limit.
I also listen to the radio news on the drive home. (Bob and Tom gets me to work)
I get most of my news on the radio, some off the Net. We also try to watch the local evening news.
What I want to know is where are the networks that do “happy news”? The only happy news I ever see is that one, 15 second blurb at the end of the show, that features the “Person of the Week” or some such thing!
Our newspaper is delivered….but during the week I really only have time to glance at the front page headline.
In recent years I must confess that I sometimes read the Gleaner on-line. While in the shower in the mornings, I usually have the TV on CNN.
I am not fond of listening to chattting on the radio while in the car…I prefer to hear music and no talking.
I try to make time to read the Sunday paper leisurely while having a late big breakfast.
I get my news at 0430 each morning with a cup of coffee and FOX News Channel. I then check the .coms periodically throughout the day.
