Stamps

It seems to me that I heard someone announce that the USPS is considering allowing people to have stamps with their own picture on them. I think the cost would be a dollar a stamp. I don’t know if there would be a minimum number you have to order. It’s apparently a way to make more money for the Post Office.
I can see women using them for wedding announcements and for bridal showers, or maybe on surprise birthday invitations. But, would you spend a buck a stamp just to send your face out in the mail??
Can’t ya just see it…..They’ll cancel the stamp and you’ll look like you’re behind bars!

  1. I’m surprised it’s *only* a dollar. The USPS has been running scared ever since email became popular. I remember they thought about trying to jump on that bandwagon and realized it wasn’t viable…
Note: the email surcharge rumor is untrue

But there was an earlier rumor that they wanted to be a place where you could *send* email from…like an email kiosk or something…
I guess they’re just as nervous as the train and bus industries were when planes became popular. But, as you can see – you can still take the bus or train… And you’ll probably always be able to snail mail stuff.

BlueWolf, I suppose the spread of the fax machine has worried them too. I suspect they don’t need to be so concerned. I’d like to see them moving the mail they DO have faster, and with less error.
    And….cheaper, would be nice too!

  3. This could be a good thing. If I were to stick my pic on an envelope with a scowl on my face, my snail mail might suddenly be fast-track mail, maybe even overnight delivery.
