haven't forgotten

no I haven't forgotten about this blog, and doubt that my wife-to-be has either (omg, that's the first time I've really typed that! :biggrin, as I know she was planning on updating here and telling 'her side' of the story at some point, however, I will have to stop monopolizing her off hours in order for that to happen I think! :rofl
so, I believe that we've pretty much decided on the major things, where it will be, what we're thinking of wearing (no, I still have not gone shopping yet) who's going to cater, officiate, and all those little details...now it's time to wait for income tax to come in so we can get these little details taken care of! :lol
which should be sometime next week :banana

I'm still waiting for the part where I freak out about all of this, all I feel is calm, which I must say is very different from the last time I did anything remotely like this! I'm waiting for the 'cold feet' to start and they haven't, everything just feels so right, and so perfect...and I can't wait for what's to come :1luvu

so, since I could....I did a bit of on-line shopping
I got this

with this to go under it (she's wearing white under it in the picture above)
View image
and even though we're going to be barefoot, I am the bride and can wear what I want...right? :lol

so, that pretty much takes care of my outfit, I wish I could find some type of headpiece that matches the 'sandals' but anything I like is very outrageous on price! :scared M say's her mom could make it however I like, but damn that would be a lot of work :shakehead so I guess we'll just have to wait and see...I like this one, View image but want it in the same colors...picky bitch ain't I? :rofl

guess what I got!

As readers of my regular blog will know, I got my newest tat on Thursday...what I also got, was my dress! :banana
We found some tikki torches last week at Garden Ridge...and they're even PRIDE colors!! (OK, most of them, they had every color except red :hum something wrong with that!) but we did get them, and plain ones to paint red :biggrin
M's mom has been working on the bouquets, which are going to be awesome IMHO!! and I've been trying to get something done with the invitations since I got a new printer/scanner/copier this week :lol

now for a little tidbit in the 'meant to be' catagory...M saw something that she wanted to get a tattoo of this week...that in itself is not to strange since she's talked about getting once since I met her...however, what she saw was almost identical to the one I'd already picked out to get next View image...so, do we get matching ones or what now? :rofl

A bit of a change

With all the other changes taking place right now, it only seemed fitting that the wedding plans had changed also. :lol
Originally, we had planned on having a 'pre-wedding party' at M's mom's house, then a trip to the beach for the ceremony, then returning to 'mom's' for the reception.
Now, we're planning on having a small 'before party' at 'mom's' (for relatives and such) then the ceremony and reception here at our house (that sounds so cool, 'our' house :biggrin)
It's still going to be beach themed, my wife-to-be still swears she's wearing a sea-shell thong and pasties :rofl, however, we're going to bring the beach to us instead of the other way around.
The thought is (courtesy of Ran) having a 'runner' covered in sand, with seashells, etc...along the sides of it, tikki torches outside of that, for us to walk down...we have a 'grove' of bamboo in the backyard, which we're going to have trimmed/shaped, probably with some hanging shells, flowers, etc...on it, and an archway underneath.
So the only real issue now is finding someone to officiate it...we don't want a religious ceremony, and unfortunately in Jacksonville it's a bit difficult to find someone who's not to do it...any suggestions would be welcomed!

and on that note, back to unpacking boxes :scared

Rings

So, since the plans are 'made' (just need to be set in motion) the next thing we needed to work on was selecting the rings. We really liked the ones at the Crystal Realm (link to the left), but the problem was selecting one (we like most, if not all of them! :lol)
So ~M~ thought we should pick our favorite 3, describe why we like them, and see where to go from there...I decided to post mine on here, so you could give me your opinions too :rofl
In the order of favoritism...links open in a new window.

Love Ring - Elvish
this is the newest one, and the fact that I like the movie LOTR doesn't hurt :lol. I like the style, the lettering, and needless to say, the message on it.

Inspiration
I also like the style and message on this one, completely conveys what our relationship has and is...

from my soul
again, the style and design, but the inscription inside is what got this one into the top 3.

OK, so there you have them...what do you think?

Wedding stuff

I know, it's been a while since I've updated here...I've been busy, so sue me :lol

Several weeks ago, J called the local Michaels and arranged for us to pick these items up that she knew I wanted :1luvu

Pre-lit arch
Unity Candle

We (M and I) were discussing yesterday how we need to get some of this stuff done, since it's only 5 WEEKS!! away now! :scared
would someone mind telling me where the time went??
So her and Ran (and Cheryl I believe?) were talking yesterday about cakes, food, etc...since we've decided not to have it catered...I've warned my girl about talking about such things in front of Ran, because not only between her and Cheryl do they know 1/2 the freakin town, but she'll go ahead and set it up (and pay for it too if you're not careful!!)
So, guess what?
Hearts and Seashells is the cake we'll be having at the wedding :1luvu:1luvu:1luvu

and I understand an eagle cake has been arranged for the bachlorette party :rofl

She also knows someone who has a large smoker/grill, that she's going to ask about doing the food for us :kisses I told you...she knows everyone :shrug

so let's see...what else? oh yes! We ordered a bunch of stuff from this site
all beach themed and rainbows of course! the attire is, of course, going to be very casual, it's July in FL FFS! shorts, t-shirts, bathing suits are the order of the day!
oh, and I should be getting the invitations out early next week...I've got them designed already, if you want to take a peek :wink

We got some which we got personalized, and then I found this site where I found these items so we got them in all the colors of the "rainbow" to make our own candles :cool (that should be here tomorrow!!)

buying food, finding someone to do the ceremony, and oh yes, sending those invitations!! I think we're almost set :Woot

last minute

:group_smile

There is nothing like waiting till almost the 11th hour :lol

We did find someone to perform the ceremony...would be one awesome party anyway if we didn't, but we did :biggrin

And I finally have all the invitations sent out!! If you don't get one and you think you should, send me your freaking address :rofl

The bachlorette party is this Saturday...it's only 24 more days till the ceremony...:scared but no, I'm not freaking out one bit!!
and if you believe that....
seriously though...I'm just hoping we get everything done in time, and it all comes together the way we want it to.
and that I don't pass out 1/2 way through it! :uhoh3

Weekend project

So, with everything winding down, the date is 13 DAYS away!! We put the finishing touches on a few things...

View image
View image

This weekend we went over to M's Mom's house and made these with the supplies we got earlier...she's finishing up on the arch decorations and headpiece, we need to get the food...and we should be all set! :banana
Oh, and rent the 'bounce' thing for the kids (including the grown kids that I'm sure will be there :lol )

Big thing I'm worried about is the weather...with all the rain we've been getting in FL...it would be my luck to have a cloudburst :scared
