So, the Petite Filet has been out of town (in Houston) since Sunday on a business conference. She finally comes home tomorrow afternoon. That's left me as the Lone Ranger, and though I've done it once before with both kids, it's hard! Considering that I've had to clean myself, dress for work, get both of them dressed and fed and to their respective Daytime Happy Places at a reasonable hour, I'm pooped. The single parents out there have my respect and admiration for doing it all the time.
It hasn't been bad. Now that we're over our various illness (ebola, space cooties, pajama-itis), both have slept through the night, as have I. Both have eaten breakfast and dinner. The Cutlet was a bit reluctant to get dressed today, maybe because he slept in his clothes last night or just because Tuesdays are not notorious motivators.
It hasn't been all good. We did drive-through dinner Monday and Tuesday, because by the time I picked both boys up and we headed home, it was getting late. Even worse: both nights were @ ick-fil-a. I don't mind eating it once in a while. I made the mistake of letting the Cutlet choose. We all have to cut each other slack when momma ain't around.
On the photo front: I booked two wedding jobs last week, one for May and another for June. That was through referrals from different people. I hope that when I actually try to get some extra work I'll be as successful. The jobs gave me just enough of a photo budget to get some accessories for my equipment (i.e., a new lens! expected to arrive Monday!). It's exciting. I've always wanted to own my own business. Maybe it will someday actually turn a profit and everything!
What's up with you?

Taking care of children is a lot of work. Just no room for laziness if you want to do it right.
Your picture is just wonderful. Your boys look very happy and healthy. And, of course, very cute.

Best of luck with the wedding work. It sounds like you could turn that into a career with some time and patience.
great to hear the photo biz is taking off. I am stuck in Hawaii working 12+ hour days, barely seeing the sun... whine, whine, whine. I guess I could be stuck in K.C.
I cracked up when you said you were pooped.
Good luck with the photo gigs. If you're still a film guy, time's running out.

I'm living the American Dream by drowning in wedding debt. Thanks for asking!
;)
my gosh that face. how do you just not eat that baby up?
your photography business is going to go big time, I just know it. I know that I have shared your linkage with those friends of mine who have weddings in their futures (and require a "real photographer," not the Sub ;-)
Best of luck!
Nothing new. We are still waiting on baby.
That picture is so darn sweet. I love the little sprigs of hair that are standing up. Too cute!
Sounds like you appreciate the PF. I'm sure she appreciates THAT!
Oh yeah...I have a lot of respect for single parents. I only have one kid and it was tough to be the only parent when Shane was out of town. Now that she's 9, it's not so hard anymore.
