It's crazy how little things can make life that much brighter. During the weekend, we went to Lowe's to pick up some odds and ends for one of my ill-conceived, never-ending home-improvement projects, and we bought a new kitchen trash can to replace the dingy one we'd been using since we got married 8.5 years ago.
We combed through the house looking for things to throw away just so we could use the new can. Good times.

Hahahaha..that's hilarious. I just bought myself a fancy stainless steel garbage can (after recycling my last one) and I can totally understand the lovely feeling of having a brand spanking new and clean trash can!! I love to take out the trash now...the Fiance thinks I'm a lunatic!
A few years ago we got a Simple Human stainless steel garbage can for the kitchen. It cost a pretty penny, but we dearly love it. A couple of months back it started slamming shut instead of the slow silent close it had always had. One call to the company and they had a little part to the house within the week. Good as new. It may be strange to love a trash can, but you interact with it daily. Congratulations! Here's to a long and happy trashy relationship.
I hear you about the trash can. We replaced our very old one in the kitchen for a great new stainless steel, shaped just right can. We've had it for several months now, and I still am happy about buying it.
