Ah, the joys of a home haircut. Maybe he'd be more open to it if we let him spend the $10 it would've taken to get professionally buzzed at the barbershop at Toys R Us. The kid already has enough toys, though, and the look on his face is worth framing. Sometimes it's tough to be 4.

That shot is priceless!!
cute! We used to cut our son's hair when he was 4 too.

That's a photo of a well-behaved kid getting a haircut. I took my cousin's son to get his done, ten years ago, when he was four. The scissors came out, and he started the tears and putting the lip out. His trim was already started with that one frantic move to get out of the chair. It needed to be evened out then. So the person took out clippers to speed up the process. He started screaming at the top of his lungs. It would only take 30 seconds to finish the trim and I had to keep him in the chair while the person finished. I'm never forgetting the embarassment. Ever. He was bawling, and screaming like a banshee. Add the detail that copious amounts of snot ran down his face and apron - sticking to bits of hair. I might never get over it, really.
*Insert horrified look on face, at the memory of it - here*
So where's the bowl you're supposed to put on top of his head to guide your scissors?
