Oh yeah!

We have reserved use of a beach house in July near Galveston (but on the cheaper side of the bay). It is awesome ... beautiful view, washer/dryer, quiet neighborhood ... nothing fancy. Just what the fam will need for a nice break. Most of our time will be spent just chillin', marking the slow tick-tock of "island time."

For unTexans, Galveston is on the Texas coast, south of Houston. The beach isn't the best in the world, but it's an awesome island city that holds special memories for the Petite Filet and me. We honeymooned there for a week, and have made several trips back, including for our one-year anniversary. I've also gone down there on business trips twice; not as fun, but I still got in lots of beach time.

Sand and surf, just what my toes need. July can't get here fast enough.

I love Galveston! I'm with you -- not the best beaches, but it's a great town. Amazing how much "history" they have even after rebuilding after The Big One (hurricaine). And I think it's amazing that it was once the biggest city in our fair state.

Oh how I miss the Gulf Coast. Galveston is a lot of fun. Enjoy!

I've never been there but it sounds wonderful! I love the ocean and I'm sure you guys will have a blast.
my mind has been on island time since January. I came back from Key West on 2/1, went back down on 3/1, and have another pilgramage planned for 6/1 (my 30th b- day... ouch!) one of these days I won't come back!!

That sounds awesome. I love having something really great to look forward to.

Galveston is close to me, but I don't go often enough just for a break. Sounds like a fun idea. Also, just having something to look forward to!

I got a kick out of the fact that having a washer/dryer there was a vacation perk for you. I bet you drive a mini van too, huh? ;-)

Sounds great! No vacation plans for us this year...:(

Likely just a few day trips here and there. But it should be fun!

Hope you (and the whole fam) have a great trip!! Sounds like a (relaxing, envigorating) blast!

wlfldy - with a couple of young 'uns in tow, the washer and dryer combo is most definitely a perk... you betcha.

I am hoping for a chance to get down to the Big Lonesome myself. Desert Rat I have become...

Hey, I know I left a comment here last night?
