it doesn't give you the right to drive your ugly car so fast through the neighborhood, because it reminds me of the shoplifter-chick who was speeding through the Wal-Mart parking lot the other day

I'd like to discuss a lot of things, but I'll limit it to one considering the excessively long and unrelated title of this post.
Have you heard about the rat in the McSalad? Don't know how national this story went, because it's local to me, but a Dallas Cowboys coach, his wife and their au pair (fancy word for "live-in babysitter") are suing the McFastFoodCompany with claims they found a rodent in a salad. Ever since the unfortunate, alleged incident they have been unable to eat out and must prepare their own food at home from scratch. I think a lot of people who eat at that McPlace end up the same way.
Anyhow, I find it just a little fishy. And here's why ...
As a former McWorker, although it's been nearly 17 years, I remember that anything that could be made fresh every day was. That means the salads are combined in the store using packaged ingredients. How asleep or dumb would the McWorker have to be to not notice a little "extra" among the lettuce?
Like any other restaurant, if there was something "extra" that place surely would have found a way to charge more for it.
What's somebody with an au pair doing eating at McDonald's? This was said to have happened in Southlake, which is a ritzy part of the county. At the least, they should have been eating at the Chick-fil-A at the top of the hill, if not the Panda Express or freakin' Burger King next door. Puh-lease!
The au pair and the mom were apparently even sharing the salad. How cheap can you be?
You might remember the chili-finger hoax last year at Wendy's. That episode definitely gets a "thumbs down." Somebody should have shown those defrauders a few pointers. Tee hee!
Lastly, if this rodent-salad thing proves true, I think it forever gives a new meaning to the phrase, "slipped them a Mickey." No offense to the Disney mouse or his cohorts, of course.

I'm just catching up with you and I LOVE your theme this week. Maybe I'll be inspired to post more than once this week so I can participate.
And ew! on the rodent story. I can't get than image out of my head!
i love this! and i agree with you. i think some of these things are hoaxes and pure news mongering... aside from that, why is this considered news??? seriously. i have issues with what is considered news.
So many people have tried to commit fraud like that. Yet, they still keep trying. Some or all of the trio must be financially desperate to do the "There's a .... in my food!" So unoriginal. Maybe there's gambling debts?
your titles are hilarious. I'm too tired to think so I stole someone's quote as a long title. Will try to do better for my next "theme week" posts :)
I'm with you on that. I don't quite buy the story. I smell a rat (pun intended, hardy har har)!!
