Sneak pique

My latest home project is to paint the Cutlet's new room. Because I've been so focused on it the past few weekends, I think the whole Internet should also be interested.

The colors are bright red, medium blue, sunny yellow and black. We're not afraid in the least of color, and have other rooms with greens, blues, reds, yellows, lavender, orange.

I've got a little more detail work to do on the walls, and then the carpet is coming out. I'll put down wood-looking laminate, which is already in our entry, hallway, the nursery and the master bedroom.

The Cutlet is really excited, and likes to go in his new room to check my progress. He told me the other day that there's some paint missing on the walls. Yes, yes. I know. But I'm working on it. It's a "theme" room, but we're making it personal. There may be similar ideas out there, but nothing taken to this kind of extreme, I bet. If I had some sort of prize I would award it to the first person to guess the theme of his room.

What are you up to?

Ahh yes the theme room. Let's see, I've done Sesame Street for my oldest who is now 16, he now has a skateboard themed room complete with his own wallpaper (literally) of magazine pages and posters stapled to the wall. I've done Spongebob for the other two kids who now want a Dallas Cowboy room. It's a never ending process. If I had to guess your theme I'd guess Clifford the dog.

That's cool that you're painting the room for "the cutlet"- your son? daughter?
I'm up to NOT writing in my blog. I haven't in over two weeks now. Mainly because I'm feeling anything I have to write, wouldn't really interest anyone right now.

Hmmm. Red, blue and yellow. Crud--I don't know. Maybe baseball?

Hmmm, is it "Supercutlet" (in the same vein as Superman)?

I've been up to a whole lot of nothing, really. My tomatoes are ripening up but are the size of pennies, and I've been thinking up all kinds of home improvements and/or fixits, but doing absolutely nothing about them.

you want to do something really cool, paint a black and white check in the room. babies love it since it stimulates little baby brain and it makes everything "pop." i do this with borders on baby quilts, amazing.

Your productiveness is merely a weak attempt to make the rest of us feel uneasy and guilty.

Nah, have a good time.

The room sounds wonderful. And it's so nice that he is sharing in the adventure with you. This will really make it "his" room.

Thanks, and for my little part in the internet scheme, I am interested in your project

I think its Thomas, the Train!

Or, at least train themed.

Whoo, whoo! Chugachugachuga....

"ALL ABOARD" for the Cutlet Express! Destination? Anywhere your imagination can take you!

I was thinking train theme too...
I've been up to very much the same thing- home improvements.
ripping up carpets, staining wood, and trying to find my "theme..."
(trying to do all of this while working 3 jobs!!)

I'm doing what your doing! But I think I need a break this weekend. I'm going to try and talk my husband into getting lost with me in a cornfield maze in honor of fall.

totally primary colors...are you doing a kindergarten classroom theme? primary colors make me think of work...work makes me think of deadlines..your son's room would make me a nervous wreck. :-)

today i am taking the whole day to go hang out with the hubby. we haven't done this in forever. we are going to eat a lazy lunch, watch a scary movie, buy a jam up coffee maker, and then we are going to come home and play video games all evening and eat pizza. i have been way too busy and serious lately!

Those are Sesame Street colors. But I don't know how "personal" SS is to the Cutlet.

We did an "Elmo's World" room for Punkin when she was 2. Now, we're hanging Hilary Duff posters.

Hmm..hard to say. My two guesses are a jungle theme and a baseball theme.

Thomas The Train was my first thought. The colour mix is a similar to my other guess. While my nephew may spends hrs a day with his Thomas collection... His favourite toy character remains
Bob The Builder.

Yea, I was going with the train theme too. Those colors just scream choochoo!

My guess: Britney Spears. What do I win?
